Jeff Klunzinger is General Partner and Founder of Awaken Capital. Jeff has over two decades of experience in the investment business across multiple sectors and asset classes, giving him a unique lens on platform companies. In 2014 Jeff co-founded OS Fund, which evolved into Awaken. Jeff led investments in Ginkgo Bioworks, Atomwise, Pivot Bio, Truvian, Tempo Automation, Sprout Social, NuMat Technologies and numerous other successful companies.

Previously, Jeff was a founding member and CFO of West Family Investments, a multi-billion dollar private investment company, where he led the non-credit related investments and successfully navigated the firm through the Global Financial Crisis with significant positive returns. Jeff began his career at Ernst & Young where he advised several of the nation’s leading families on complex M&A and investments post liquidation event. Jeff sits on the board of NuMat Technologies, was on the board of Arzeda and was Chairman of the Board of PRE Brands (exit 2021). Jeff is a Certified Public Accountant (non-practicing). He earned his BA in Accounting from Michigan State University.
