Pivot Bio has developed the world’s leading microbial fertilizers that allow farmers to fuel their crops more sustainably, using less harsh synthetic fertilizer. Pivot is an example of the potential of engineered biology to solve some of our greatest challenges in food and agriculture.

The nitrogen-producing microbes are applied during planting and adhere to the root structure. The microbes capture nitrogen gas from the air, convert it to ammonia, and deliver it to the roots every day. One advantage of the fact that the microbes are a living system is that the microbes can deliver peak nitrogen production when the crops need it the most.

• Farmers in the US in 2023 are using Pivot Bio products on more than 5 million acres of corn, up from just over 3 million acres in 2022.

• In 2023, Pivot grew its revenue over 60% and over $100M, making this the fourth consecutive year of growth in terms of revenue and acres.
